Budget

Budget approach of We R Europe

zenginThe ECU budget has been based traditionally on entry fees collected from events and some very small sponsorship from time to time.

To be a Professional chess person in Europe today, means that you should dare to spend Money from your pocket to earn Money.

This is not an unfortunate destiny! We are able to change it!

There are basic ways to do this:

  • Empowering federations with proper budgets to support their national heroes.
  • Finding corporate sponsorships for ECU and investing this money for the development of chess in each nation.
  • Getting support of national governments to increase the participation of federations in tournaments.
  • Generating common funds by ECU to invest in national, regional and European chess projects
  • Giving each federation one free place for each individual chess event

eurolarWe plan that by the 2012 the operating budget of ECU will be similar to that of the Turkish Federation when we started to change, to grow. Money will not be kept in the bank attracting a low interest rate. All money will be invested in critical projects to improve chess in Europe.

Primarily, chess in schools (to create mass popularisation) and chess in clubs (to support professionals and vertical improvement). We will hire professional staff to manage professional customized services for our member federations.

By 2014 our aim is to have a stable revenue and operating budget for ECU of more than 2 million € per year with a surplus. We aim to have premises and resources which we own and we can invest in.

Is this a dream? No! This is a pledge from our side.

Our success in our federations is the guarantee of our promises.

Winning is a habit, Success is a choice
