Bayatli says, he gives full support to We R Europe, explains the reasons, the position of TNOC and he mentiones 'one day, Ali will represent a big role in making chess an Olympic sport.'

The European Chess Academy (ECA) will be a pan-European organization to assist and coordinate the work of all associated academies. The underlying idea is to build on the work of Chess in School by creating a system of secondary and tertiary chess education.
We publish a new article written by a gentleman Mr.Kevin O'Connell. Kevin is a FM, International Arbiter and FIDE Senior Trainer. All his life is dedicated to chess. Kevin was a very well know politician as well. Although he is retired from politics, his opinion for the furthcoming ECU Elections are very interesting to read. Can you tell us a little bit about your chess responsibilities ?
I have been President of the Maltese Chess Federation for the last nine years. I am also the General Secretary of the Small Nations Chess Association and of the Mediterranean Chess Association since 2002. Within FIDE I have been entrusted with the role of FIDE Commercial Director following my resignation as FIDE Vice President in 2007 to take up the CEO position within Global Chess, which I hold to this day.
